Job Title: Order Picker Job Description

The Order Picker plays a key role in warehouse operations by accurately picking orders, moving materials, and supporting shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities. This role focuses on maintaining an organized work area, using inventory control systems and scanning devices, and ensuring products are properly packaged and staged for shipment or internal use during weekend shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Perform activities related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control to ensure accurate and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Pick customer and internal orders with precision, including material movement throughout the warehouse.
  • Package and stage orders in preparation for shipment or internal use, following established procedures and quality standards.
  • Load and unload products from trucks or other transport vehicles and keep accurate records of progress and completed tasks.
  • Restock products and materials in designated locations and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Utilize inventory control systems and related technology, including computers, tablets, and RF scanners, to track and manage inventory.
  • Support coworkers by collaborating effectively, sharing information, and assisting as needed to meet team goals.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to delivering customer value through accurate order fulfillment and high-quality work.
  • Follow all warehouse procedures, safety guidelines, and work instructions consistently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and production operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with order picking and material handling in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Proficiency using RF scanners and other inventory control tools for picking and tracking orders.
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with coworkers and share information clearly.
  • Basic math skills to verify quantities, counts, and inventory levels accurately.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of internet-based systems and scanning technologies.
  • Ability to properly lift, pack, stack, and wrap items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while using hands to touch, grasp, handle, and feel items.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively in a team environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a brand-new, non-climate-controlled warehouse and production environment where temperatures may reach up to 90 degrees during summer months. The position follows a weekend shift schedule, working Friday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Work is primarily performed while standing and walking, with frequent use of hands to touch, grasp, handle, and feel items. The environment is active and fast-paced, involving regular lifting, packing, stacking, and wrapping of items up to 50 pounds. Inventory control systems are accessed via computers, tablets, and RF scanners, and the facility is designed to support organized, efficient material movement and order fulfillment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
